Easter

The girls came with me to the salon one day.  Sarah had stopped sucking her thumb so she got her nails painted.  Anna had stopped for a few days so she did, too.  Unfortunately, that was short-lived.  She started sucking her thumb again the next day so I had to take the polish off.

This was a fun project for the girls!
A few months ago, Sarah helped me sew buttons on her 100th day of school shirt so she told everybody she knows how to sew now.   I told her buttons are different from sewing so she asked me to teach her how to sew "for real".  I bought these bunny and cat sewing kits from Joann's Fabric store and they LOVED it!  Anna needed a bit more help holding the yarn onto the plastic needle and Arve had to come help Anna while I helped Sarah. Sarah was getting frustrated with skipping holes and redoing it so she needed me to sit next to her and encourage her.
For some reason, I told them we might try sewing a skirt over the summer...

Anna was rocking and talking to Bessie, Sarah's puppy, and I asked what she was saying.  She said she was telling Bessie not to cry because she was a good babysitter and her mommy will be back soon :)

Since Erik was about 1 year old, he has wrapped this quilt around his head to fall asleep.  It works great in one way because he will fall asleep wherever he is as long as he has his blanket.  On the other hand, he gets hot and wakes up too soon.  Sometimes he moves around in his bed and pulls it off and sleeps longer, but that's not often.  We usually have to take it off of him before we go to bed.

We went to two Easter egg hunts on Saturday.  Erik picked up one egg at each and sat down to eat the candy.  He was totally uninterested in collecting as many as he could which was fine with me!

Egg hunt #2 with friends :)

Squealing because he saw the Easter bunny.
I was standing by the swing with the girls and got this shot using the zoom on my camera.

Erik kept giving him "High 5".

The petting zoo is always our favorite part.  Anna kept her distance from the animals when we first walked in.

She wanted to hold my hand while petting the bigger animals.
Then she got braver and pet them while holding Erik's hand.

Erik called out to Pappa and said a bunch of sentences while pointing to this digger.  Arve was all too happy to show him how to play with this awesome playground toy, haha :)  The girls were never interested no matter how many times Arve tried to show them.

Tired after a long morning.

This was Erik's reaction to finding his basket on Easter morning.  He woke up last and the girls were making too much noise after they found their basket.  He looked through his basket, but he just threw the chocolate out and crumbled the pop tart. He didn't want any of it all day.
Too overwhelming and traumatizing I guess.

The rest of these pictures are just random pictures taken with the iPhone.  This is at LaMadeleine restaurant which is our favorite Saturday brunch place.  They get to sit by the fire if they behaved during breakfast.  Erik is learning not to throw his food when he's done, but he still gets to sit with them :)

Even Erik held on pretty long.  Anna had the most graceful landing when she jumped down.  She landed like a gymnast with her knees bent and arms out.  She was so proud that she didn't wobble or touch the ground.  She takes gymnastics one day a week.

Erik and Sarah fell asleep while we were reading books.  We left him there for a few hours until we went to bed.

Arve drew this circle to teach them how to turn better.

Sarah loves playing the keyboard with this song book that tells you what number to press on the keys.  Thank you for this fun book, Grandmami and Grandpapa!  She said she is ready to take piano lessons now so she can play on a real piano.  We don't have a piano so I signed her up for a two week piano camp to see if she really likes it.
We weren't planning on buying a piano so soon...

I was trying to sneak a candid picture of read-aloud time but Erik got into camera pose.
